Stitch Fix Review- November 2014
This is the 2nd month I've received Stitch Fix and I'm still loving it! If you're not sure what it's all about, check out my 1st Stitch Fix Review! This month I asked them to send me a bold colored necklace to dress up some casual outfits, a fun colored pair of skinny jeans, and that I was still looking for a blazer to take my tanks tops into winter. Oh, and a lower price point from last fix. Well....they delivered! My new stylist listened and did their best on every. single. request. I'm going to apologize up front for the awful pictures...no, really, you've been warned. But I thought something to get a glimpse of what you might be getting in the mail is better than nothing? right? No? Oh well....I had been pretty busy the past couple days and was doing this super last minute before I ran to the mailbox.
Here's a peek at what I got along with the note from my stylist:
First up was this tank:
Esten Button Up Sleeveless Blouse $54
I love the color and I don't have anything else like it. I think it was a bit big on me though and seemed really boxy. But it looked better tucked in or with a cardigan over it. It has a hidden panel of buttons all down the front of the shirt. I was tempted to get this, but it seemed like a bit much for a tank top that I wasn't in love with.
Avondale Shirt by Ark n Co $28
Again. I know these pics came out especially horrible. I had my husband take these and before I realized that the shadows and the sun made it impossible to really make anything out, I had already taken the shirt off and wasn't about to put it back on. Like I said....I was doing this at the last possible minute before these had to go back in the mailbox. Anyways...the shirt. Well, it's see through, so you have to wear a tank under it. I like the little dots all over it, I tried to get a close up so that you could see. And the fit was just off. If I put my hands on my hips, it pulled across the chest and arms and was way too tight. However, the rest of the shirt was big? And the neckline was also odd in that it was constantly gaping and falling down, and it would have been just too much hassle to keep....even with the low price point.
Margaret M Duboce Straight Leg Jeans: $58
Status: Kept (Come on BeachBody, do your thing!)
Bay to Baubles Rhinestone Necklace $32-- sorry, I forget the entire name
Hmm. I was really excited for a statement necklace and I couldn't see what this looked like when I tried to check it out online before hand. Hmm.....big let down. Just not my style. I think I prefer longer necklaces...or at least not that chunky if its going to be short. But that's my fault, I should have specified. But I didn't know...that's what I like about Stitch Fix, I learn more about what I like or don't like even if it's a miss so we can do better next time. Anyways, it was awfully cheap looking and one of the big blue stones was warped.
Mystree Jackie Striped French Terry Asymmetrical Jacket $78
I so wanted to love this blazer. I love navy/grey. I like stripes....I really really wanted a blazer. But.....it just didn't work. I don't know, I just didn't love it. It had a lot of extra material on the stomach which I felt made me look bigger than I am. The lapels seemed huuuge. I did like the above blouse paired with it though, I thought the mustard color when nice and liked the length of the blouse underneath the jacket, but... I just wasn't feeling it. And I wasn't gonna pay $78 for something that I wasn't really feeling so....
Even though I only kept 1 thing, I'm still really happy. I do love those jeans and I feel like style wise they got me pretty well. It was just some odd fit issues. With my $20 styling fee taken off, I only paid $38 for the jeans and that's pretty darn good. If I would have kept everything, it would have cost $266 minus the $20 styling fee and minus the 25% discount would have brought it to only $184 for all 5 pieces, not a bad deal!
