Stitch Fix Review December 2014
This is my 3rd fix! This month I had asked for some warm tops to go with my green jeans that I kept from my last fix and a multi colored scarf that could jazz up some neutral colored clothes. I thought since I wasn't having much luck on the blazer front to do that, that I would try a scarf. As you might remember from my first fix, I had my price point set at their least expensive option. In my first fix, they didn't do that, so I added in a note for my next fix. The 2nd fix they listened, and it was much better price wise. Now, it's like this stylist didn't read those notes and some of the clothing is back to the more expensive side. Once I saw that I could track my shipment, I peeked at what I got. I have to admit that I was a little disappointed. I didn't really think that the stylist got me at all this fix, but I was determined to wait until I actually got my package to make that decision. And it's a good thing, because even though I don't really felt like I was listened to...I really did like almost everything I got! And I was excited because my shipment came early and Stitch Fix gave me even longer to try on the clothes for some reason. I'm thinking maybe it had something to do with the holidays?
Let's see what's in my 3rd fix!
First up was this:
Renee C Macklin Graphic Floral Print Blouse $58 and
Kut from the Kloth Denna Dark Wash Skinny Jeans $78
The Shirt- Honestly, the print on this shirt just isn't me. At all. I don't like floral patterns. The sleeves were super tight at the elbows and I had trouble getting out of it. Also, I felt like the front part of the shirt hit me at a weird spot on my hips and made me look a lot larger than I am, and the back I thought was too long. I get that it's supposed to be a Hi/Lo shirt, but the difference was huge. However, even after saying all of that....when I look at the pictures, I kind of like the shirt. I can't seem to tell that it made me look bigger or hit me at a weird spot and don't seem to mind the pattern. But the fact that it was so tight on the arms and I had trouble getting out of it reminds me that I made the right decision in sending it back!
The Jeans- Now for the pants, I really liked them. They fit me great. They had been sending me a size smaller jeans than I usually purchase myself, and while the other jeans that they have sent me fit, I always kind of wanted them to send me my regular size so that I could see the difference. I didn't ask them to do this, but I'm glad my stylist did! I think I like them better. They fit great in the waist, butt, and on my legs, but they were a bit too long. You can tell they were bunched up quite a bit on my lower leg. These were nice but I just bought pants from them last fix didn't want to spend much with the holidays coming up!
Status: Returned and Returned
Tart Kaylie Solid French Terry Blazer $128
I love this blazer! I had stopped asking for one because I just wasn't in love with the others they sent me. My stylist hit it right on the mark with this one. It's perfect. It's very soft and lightweight, and are you ready for it? It has shoulder pads! Shoulder pads. I was pretty sure those went out with the 80s, but here they are and I like it! This blazer also has pockets which I don't mind. It will go with everything and instantly makes an outfit. Here I have it paired with my green jeans that I kept from my last fix. I love everything about it...except the price :( This is where I think they didn't really go back in the notes and look at my price point. $128 for a blazer is just too much, even though it was perfect
Status: Sadly Returned
Skies are Blue Hanlee Airy Knit Raglan Sweater $48
When I first peeked at what I might get in this fix, this was the item I thought I would like the most. And it didn't disappoint. It is "airy" in the fact that it has a crochet look to it with all of the holes, but surprisingly it's still very cozy. It's really comfortable and can be dressed up or down. I didn't want to take it off and have already worn it like 3 times. When I first received it, it said it was $48 on my paper and on the checkout online, when I went to purchase it a couple days later, it had gone down to $38? Score! So with my $20 styling fee, I only had to pay $18 for this shirt. That's a win.
Look By M Prescott Solid Fringe Detail Wrap Scarf $32
So, I think they sent me the wrong scarf. The picture that shows how to wear it has two ends, this one is like an infinity scarf. And can you tell I have no idea how to wear it?? haha. There also is no fringe. Now, I did ask for a scarf....but I asked for one that had more than one color and had a pattern to dress up some neutral clothes. This doesn't exactly do that. But, it is very soft and I really did like it, if I could figure out how to wear it. It would match anything, but I kind of wanted something that would stand out or bring some color up by my face.
So even though I started out a bit disappointed with this fix, I did like everything except for the one floral shirt. And as long as I purchase at least one item I consider it a win since I don't lose the styling fee.
