Stitch Fix Review February 2015

Wow.  Fix number 5 was the best one yet!  I think I found my stylist.  I had asked to have my stylist that did my last fix for me, but she wasn't around for whatever reason, so they gave me someone else. And I'm really glad they did.  Kristy hit the nail on the head with this one!  She listened to what I requested, she got my style, she got my price point, and I couldn't be happier.  Now, to hope she is available for my next fix!

So first, if you are new to Stitch Fix and wondering what the heck I am talking about, you can read all about what it is here.

As a side note, I've had some people ask me if I've ever found Stitch Fix clothes at a lower price elsewhere.  I've found some Stitch Fix brands at Nordstrom Rack online that are sometimes cheaper.  But I recently found this other awesome site that carries "like new" brand name clothes at hugely discounted prices.  It's call thredUp.  You can read about it here.  It's like an upscale consignment shop online.  They do carry some Stitch Fix brands and I've seen a couple items here and there that were in previous fixes.  These items are pre worn, but are in like new condition.  Annnd, thredUp is giving you $10 to spend on your next order with them when you use my link

I have also found this awesome facebook page where you join and it's full of people who use Stitch Fix.  It's meant to be a place for you to trade some of your Stitch Fix stuff that you thought you'd wear all the time, but for some reason just don't or, if you love most things in your box but there is 1 or 2 items that you don't like, you can try to sell it on this facebook page so that you can still get the discount for buying all 5, it's a great concept and I'm glad someone thought of it.  I've already sold 3 items on there!

Ok, on to the good stuff!  This is what I got in this month's fix!

41 Hawthorn Abrianna Longsleeve Knit Cardigan $48

I had asked for this fix to focus on tops and cardigans.  I let them know that I already had neutral color cardigans.  Well, Stitich Fix (Kristy!) listened!  I got 2 cardigans in beautiful colors and some other great tops.  I love the style of this cardigan.  It fit nicely, I like how it was open, didn't have any buttons, and how it was a little longer in front.  I have one just like this in grey and it's my favorite to just throw on over everything. I'm super happy to have  the same sort of cardigan now in this beautiful color.  They call it a jewel purple?  I probably wouldn't wear this with a collared shirt under it like I have in the picture, but the other white shirt I wanted to put on was in the dirty clothes, sooo....  When I first saw this, I thought it looked like a much better version of what I got in my last package from Nadine West and I was so happy I didn't keep that one.

Ugh, wow, looking at these pictures I need to make myself a hair appointment.  You can really see how bad it is when I'm in the sun and my hair isn't curled....yow....anyways...I had asked them to send me the Heathered Dolman shirt if they had it in stock, which they didn't but they sent me this one instead.  Honestly, it's pretty much the same thing, I can't tell much of a different.  And I. LOVE. THIS. SHIRT!  I love that it's looser around the midsection and then fitted at the hips.  It looks great to dress up or dress down and I can see myself wearing this everyday.  It is a thinner material and I'm a little worried about something getting caught on it and it making a "pull" in the shirt, buuuutt I love this shirt enough that I'm taking my chances.  Oh, and the awesome black pants came from Stitch Fix too, in my last box here.

Market & Spruce Corinna Striped Dolman Top $48

I've seen this shirt in grey and white before, and grey and black.  I hadn't seen it in this color before.  It's a dark green and either navy or black, I can't really tell.  I like this shirt, it fits nice, I think it's just a bit too big in some areas though.  And I think the way the dolman sleeves are on this shirt look a bit odd on me, even though I love them in the above shirt.  If it was in a different color I would like this shirt even  more.  I mostly own dark jeans and I think the dark colors on the shirt and the dark jeans is just too much.  I would always have to wear them with these white pants, so that is the only reason that.....

This shirt is a gorgeous color.  It would be great to add a "pop" to any outfit.  For some reason I just don't see myself wearing this shirt as much.  It's a bit bigger than I like, and I can't really put my finger on why I don't love this shirt.  Maybe it's the pocket on the chest?  I don't know.  I don't have anything against it, it's a nice shirt, just not my favorite.

I love love love this cardigan!  When I first peaked at what I would get in my fix, I searched the internet and I always came across this shirt in a teal or pink color, both of which aren't my fav.  Plus, it looked a little Mr. Roger-ish to me with the buttons and the pockets, but you know what?  I love my Mr. Rogers cardigan!  First, I am happy they sent it to me in the awesome mustard color!  2nd- it is so warm and cozy.  It kinda makes me feel geeky-chic.  I am sooo not a fashion person....but this is how the sweater makes me feel, haha.  I don't even like taking it in, I've been known to throw it on over my pajamas at night while watching tv if I'm cold.  Ha!  Love this shirt, it's mine, all mine!

Status: Kept!  obviously :)

Well, there you have it, Fix number 5 is complete!  And I actually got to get the buy 5 discount!  Technically, 2 of the pieces went to other people, but this fix was the best yet.  I usually only have kept one piece, and in this one I kept 3.  I still liked the other two pieces except for minor details.  I'm so excited for my next fix and I hope I get to keep the same stylist!

  1. Why you don´t like the blue shirt? It is my favorite.o) It is really nice color. Maybe because I am big blue color fan.I should really give a chance other colors too.

    1. Thank you Anna! You know, I'm not really sure. I think it's because I kept a coral colored shirt very similar to it in my first fix and I just don't wear it much. Do you do Stitch Fix too? That's one of the things I love about it, it lets me try colors that I normally wouldn't!
