Valentine Gift Ideas For Guys

Are you sick of the cliche dinner and movie for Valentine's Day?  The cheesy love coupon ideas?  (hey, I may have done them once too....but you can't do them again, that's a cop out lol).  If you're like me, as the days get closer to Valentine's, you're sitting there struggling to find something great to give the man in your life.  You don't want it to be too cheesy, but what the heck do you get a guy for Valentine's Day?

So instead of waiting around til the last minute, I've started thinking ahead of time this year.  I'm putting this list out there in hopes it helps some of you in your search as well!  Some of these I've done in past years, some I've thought of and haven't done yet!

- This something I did for my husband at Christmas one year, but it would work great for Valentine's as well.  If your husband is a wine or beer enthusiast, why not enroll him in a Wine (or Beer) of the month club?  There is this awesome company that provides this service (you can give the gift so he gets a package for the whole year or only a couple months).  You can get wine or beer from all over the world or from rare wineries/breweries in the US.  Each month is a surprise as to what you will get.  For wine, you can specify if you only want reds, whites, or a mixture. What we loved most about the service (besides the surprise!) was that they come with cellar notes, tasting notes, food pairings, and information on the brewery or winery.
The wine of the month comes with two bottles of wine each month, while the beer of the month club gives you twelve 12 oz beers in each shipment. (there are other packages you can get with the beer as well).  The same company also has a cigar of the month club, chocolate, or cheese of the month if your  man is more into that!  You can find them here.

Starts at $34.95 plus s&h for the wine club.  Starts at $24.95 plus s&h for the beer club.

- An old school all natural shaving package.  The Art of Shaving has great ones.  Some of their packages contain all natural shaving creams, pre shave oils, after shave, and a shaving brush to apply the cream.  They work great to get a closer shave, and leave him feeling super smooth!  You can find their products here.  Don't have that much money to shell out?  Why not try some of my homemade pre-shave oil and after shave balm for men?  Made with only the highest quality natural products, there are no chemicals to irritate his skin, they smell amazing and leave him moisturized.  Razors glide over skin for a closer shave without knicks and cuts.  His face will feel baby soft after- plus for you!  Check out the shaving products from my etsy store!  (Use code blog5 to tell me you found this on my blog and receive a free all natural lip balm with any men's shaving product order!)

- Scavenger Hunt-  these are so fun and may take some planning, but I did this one year for my husband and got rave reviews!  We started out with me making him a yummy breakfast with mimosas and he found the first "clue" under his plate at breakfast.  The clues ended up taking us all around the city to different places during our day.  If you can't put new clues in public places easily, just do what I did and bring them with you (don't forget to number them so you know the order that the clues are supposed to go in!) and very sneakily (is that a word?) hide it, right before he's supposed to find it.  You can do all sorts of things with this (we happened to live in Las Vegas at the time so we went to the Bellagio fountains, casinos, a restaurant, etc) and at the end of the night, the clue led him to a candle lit bubble bath with rose petals and champagne.

- a surprise trip somewhere! But that's the key...surprise! It doesn't have to be very far away to be fun, it could just be the next town over or one a couple of hours away.  Look at a map, I bet there are a couple of great places within a 2-3 hours drive from you.  Pack him a suitcase and don't let him know where you are going!  Book a hotel for a night somewhere....maybe one with a hot tub in the room.  Plan an activity to do outside of the hotel.  You can keep that a secret too!  Don't tell him where you are going during the drive there, keep the suspense (if you can pull it off in time- buy plane tickets for the two of you...don't even tell him you're going on a plane!).  It doesn't have to be far, just the surprise element and the time away just the two of you would be great!  For those of you who would like to go further, sometimes you can get cruises for a great deal last minute!

- Does your man like golf?  Get him a gift certificate to play at a golf course he's always wanted to play at.  This could also work with the idea above...the golf outing could be one of his surprises.  If you're at a nice hotel, they usually have a golf course there and spa for you to do while he's out golfing!  Score!  Then join together for a romantic evening.  I haven't done this yet, but have thought about it many times.  I know my husband would love to go to the course in Monterey, CA.  One day, I will check this off my list!

- Get him tickets to a sporting event - If you're really generous, buy two tickets so that he can take one of his buddies.  (of course you would give this gift on v-day...but the game better be for a different day!  Ditching you Valentine's night to be with his buddy probable wouldn't earn him any brownie points).

-While many of us can't buy the car of his dreams, it may be possible to rent an awesome car that's his for the day! (or two or three days).  Check out the rental car companies and see what they have!

-Couples Massage,  Has your man been working hard lately or been feeling stressed out?  Why not give him the gift of relaxation.  You can go together and get a couple's massage or get him a gift certificate for him to use himself at another time.  If you're local in Hilton Head, SC you can purchase a gift certificate here from Tranquil Earth.

That will do it for my list.  Hopefully I've given you a few ideas to get the creative juices flowing.  Do you have great ideas on what to get guys for Valentine's Day?? I'd love it if you would comment to add them to the list!
