Stitch Fix Review March 2015

This is my 6th Stitch Fix.  I can't believe I've been doing this for 6 months already!  It keeps getting better and better!  If you don't know what Stitch Fix is yet, head on over to my very first blog post about it here.  I haven't mentioned this in a while and I've had some people ask me why I started doing Stitch Fix.  For me, there are a lot of reasons:

-I have no style.  If left to my own devices, I would live in jeans and t-shirts
-I've had so much trouble trying to find clothes that fit my body that aren't in the juniors department....and let's just say at 31, I'm really starting to feel wrong shopping in that section
-I tend to wear neutral colors with no pattern...ummm I need to spice it up!
-I have a 5 year old who makes it incredibly hard to actually go to a store to try on clothes for myself
-And you know what?  I love surprises!  (surprises that I can peek and cheat at!)

Stitch Fix has been my answer to all of these!  If you haven't tried it yet, head on over there now to let the fun begin!

They also always send a cute little note from the stylist which I love:

I've heard some people wondering how to get the best fixes possible or at least ways to improve their fixes, and I think I'll write an upcoming post about that.  One factor however, is of course having a great stylist.  And can I just say that I am loving my stylist Kristy!  She did my last fix for me and this one as well.  She is amazing!  She looks at my Pinterest board, she looks at my past comments from times that she wasn't even my stylist, she listened to my requests and suggestions, and found amazing clothes that are my style annnnd price point!  (Now, don't every one go run and request her so she can't do my fixes anymore! lol).

Feel free to pin any pictures of the items you like on here to let your stylist know that you might want to try it!

This is what she sent me this month: (Spoiler!  I kept everything...I loved 3 items and kept the other 2 for the discount!)

***I'm going to apologize upfront for the pics.  I  waited for daaayys to take these in hopes the weather would get better outside.  We just had a bunch of rain and colder days on the island this past week.  I didn't want to wait any longer so the outside pics aren't great.  And then you get a bunch of bathroom selfies :)   ***

Octavia Solange Multi Dot Scarf- $28

It doesn't look too  bad?

I feel like this scarf has an identity crisis

Umm, so this scarf is not really all.  I had to laugh when I read her note about it though, I got to hand it to her, she sure tried.  She said she had gone back and read when I asked for a multi colored scarf (I sure did...about 3 months ago, but I was thinking more like 2 or 3 colors?), and she knew that I liked polka dots (I sure do!) so she couldn't resist sending me this!  Ha!  I totally brought this on myself.  Sure sounds like she woulda hit the mark here lol.  But it's a little too....crazy/frantic? for me.  Too many colors going on in this scarf.  That, and I was going out of my comfort zone the month that I asked for one.  I don't own any scarves and don't really know how to wear them.

41 Hawthorn McQue Solid Lace Sleeve Blouse- $48

Side detail of sleeve

Keyhole opening in back

I mentioned that lace was one of the things I wanted to try in this fix and so my stylist sent me this blouse.  I do like this shirt a lot.  I kinda wish the lace sleeve would have went all the way down to make a long sleeve though.  I love that there is a little opening in the back with a button at the top.  This shirt is great, but it felt a little tight in the back of the shoulders when I would put my arms together in front of me (if that makes sense?).  So, I was a little worried that I would end up ripping the lace or something if I moved wrong.  I think this shirt would go great with a pair of white skinny jeans and I do really like it, but I'm too worried about ripping it since it's a little tight.

So I kept my next three items.  The two above items, I decided not to send back because the other 3 items were the most expensive in the box and with the buy 5 discount, it would have meant keeping the above 2 items for free.  No brainer.

41 Hawthorn Harriet Chevron Print Detail Dress $64

Love the "V" in the back

This dress is great.  It's still in my comfortable neutral colors (black/white), but I can spice it up with colored shoes, bag, belt, or sweater.  And it gives me some print to make it interesting!  I added a black sparkly belt to enhance the waist and give it more structure.  I can't wait to play around with some colorful shoes or a belt with this dress (once I actually own some color to play with!).  I had this pinned on my Pinterest board and I'm really glad she sent this to me!

Fate Artesia Drape Front Cardigan $58

I really tried with these outside pictures, the weather would not cooperate!

My stylist sent this one after looking at my Pinterest board too.  It's really close to the one that I actually pinned,  but the one I had on there had black lace where these stripes are.  I went back and forth on this cardigan because while I love it from the back, sometimes I didn't like the way the front draped on me. But I know I would love to grab this cardigan as something easy to throw on everyday...and I know that because it sat in my pretty Stitch Fix box staring at me for a week while I considered it and I contemplated wearing it everyday.  So that made the decision to keep it.  Plus, its nice and thin which will be a good piece for the upcoming spring and even summer evenings.

Just Black Dean Ankle Zip Skinny Jean $78

You can probably see the color better here

I am wearing the jeans in all of the above pictures, including these ones.  The shirt, necklace, and bracelet you can find in my February Nadine West Review, but this was the best picture I could get of the pants.  Best. Jeans. Ever.  They are so comfortable and fit perfectly!  And, they don't stretch out between washes!  I would love to wear these pants every day!  They are a very dark blue denim, but sometimes look black.  They have a cute ankle zipper and you might be able to see the color better in that last picture.  This might be my favorite Stitch Fix item ever.  I will live in these jeans.

So there you go!  Another fix where I kept all of the pieces so I got to receive the 25% of everything.

If you haven't signed up yet and think it might be fun, you can sign up through my referral link here. It doesn't cost you anything, but it does give me a credit towards my Stitch Fix obsession.  Thanks in advance!  I might send you some homemade peanutbutter cookies if you do.....because I just made a bunch and they're delicious....and if I don't give some away, I will eat them all and then my new Stitch Fix clothes will no longer fit!  lol.

What's been your favorite Stitch Fix piece?  I'd love to know!

Can't get enough Stitch Fix?  Check out what I received in my previous fixes!
