Stitch Fix Review June/July 2015

Stitch Fix time again!  I actually got this fix earlier in June, but am just putting it up now.  There will be another July review coming soon for one that is on it's way to me!  I also just created a Facebook page for the blog if anyone wants to head over and follow me.  I thought it might be fun to connect with you there too, rather than just "talking at you" here in my reviews!

So, this month I mostly told my stylist Kristy to surprise me, except I did mention that I would be going on a birthday cruise (yay!) in August and that if she saw a dress for me to wear to dinner one night on the cruise, to include that.  This was a great box, and it was also my cheapest one yet with all 5 pieces being only $143.50.  Amazing!  Ok, enough suspense, let's see what I got!

Skies Are Blue Karla Textured Short $44

I had these shorts pinned.  They have an elastic waist, so no buttons or zippers.  I thought they were a great color and I loved the texture, but I thought the texture would be on the back as well.  I tried to make the second picture pretty big so that you could see that the "texture" is only on the front of the shorts, while the back is plain.  The shorts felt a little big in some areas and I couldn't really put my finger on it, but I didn't love them.  The husband also didn't like them.  These shorts have a lot going for them in terms of color, detail, comfort....they just weren't perfect for me.

Staccato Bana Open Weave Cardigan $44

You know, I wasn't sure about this cardigan at first.  I didn't know if I could pull off the whole "open weave" thing.  But that's the magic of Stitch Fix.  You get to try on pieces that you never would in the store.  And I don't know about you, but I kinda really liked it.  The only thing I wasn't really loving was the sleeves.  They were like really big dolman sleeves where it was all kind of sewn together along the side of the cardigan.  I know that's the style, and I have a dolman shirt...but some of them I think work better on me than others.  If the sleeves weren't that style, I would totally keep this cardigan.  It is great for all seasons here in SC.  Okay, maybe not summer, but I would rock it in fall, spring, and even winter here.

Bay to Baubles Hillcrest Mixed Media Chevron Necklace $28

I wore this necklace in the above pictures as well.  It is gold with brown on the chevron.  I had only ever seen this necklace with a lighter blue color instead of brown, but I like this too!  I have been on a necklace kick lately and love ones about this length.  Kristy sent me a great necklace last fix too and included this great little piece for today.  I think it's a nice casual necklace to throw on to add a little interest with a tee.

Gilli Ruth Dress  $58

I really like this dress.  It's not a color that I would have picked out for myself, but I liked it when I put it on.  If I had a little tan, it would look even better.  I love that it had a bit of a sleeve, the cross in the front, and the opening in the back.  It's not fully open though as the dress is underneath except up by your neck.  Kristy really hit the nail on the head for me here.  She knows I like this shape of dress, length, and the cut out in the back.  And I could totally see myself wearing this to dinner one night on the cruise....however, something was off.  The  material, while nice and soft, seemed to wrinkle easy and it seemed like it would be tough to get them out.  Now, I'm no laundry genius, so that could just be my inexperience talking, but that coupled with the fact that it would probably get more wrinkles having to be packed in a suitcase, made me stop and think.  Also, I liked it, but it just didn't wow me.

Papermoon Sheydon Trim Detail Blouse $44

Close up of neck detail

This tank is nice.  It's not form fitting, so if I want to pig out on pizza and ice cream, no one would know....except for when it comes time to put a bathing suit on later lol.  I like the detail and color up at the neckline, it gives it an added "something".  I found so many things in my closet that this shirt could go with and I am always searching for a quick comfortable top to wear.  This one fits the bill!

So even though this was my least expensive fix so far if I were to have kept them all, I only kept the tank and the necklace.  I tried to be choosy this fix since we had just moved and had to get a new car.  I love my stylist, I can't say enough good things about her.  She really pays attention to my notes and Pinterest board.  If you want to try out Stitch Fix and see what a personal stylist would pick for you, try it out here.  (<----- affiliate link.  If you do sign up with my link, I will get a Stitch Fix credit at no cost to you.  Thanks for feeding my addiction!)

  4. I always like the clothes other people get in their Stitch Fix more than the ones I got! Good choices, too bad the time wasn't right to get the others you were on the fence about---I think they all looked great! :)

    1. Hi Brooke! It took a little while of feedback and building my pinterest/etc to get to where I liked everything pretty consistently. I just got my next box and I love everything! Do you still do Stitch Fix?
